For reporters and editors
Society boilerplate, how to reach us, and how to use the Society's name and seal.
Boilerplate
Use this paragraph as written. It is the description the Society stands behind.
The South Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists is the only organization in the state that advocates expressly for anesthesiology. The Society is the South Carolina component of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and represents its members in the ASA House of Delegates. Its mission is physician-led, patient-centered, high-quality, and cost-effective anesthesia care for every South Carolinian, pursued through legislative, regulatory, and reimbursement advocacy.
On first reference, write “the South Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists”. On later references, “the Society” or “SCSA” is fine. The Society’s political action committee is written “SCSA PAC”, with a space.
Reach the Society
Send your request through the contact form and choose the media option. Tell us your outlet, your question, and your deadline.
The Society answers questions about anesthesia care in South Carolina, about legislation and regulation affecting the specialty, and about the Society’s own positions and activity.
The Society does not comment on the care of an individual patient, and it does not comment on a matter involving an individual physician.
Please include a deadline. It helps us route your request to somebody who can answer it in time.
Using our marks
The Society’s name and seal belong to the Society. You may use them to report on the Society, and to identify the Society in an article.
Ask us first before any other use. Do not use the name or the seal in a way that suggests the Society sponsors, endorses, or agrees with a product, a service, an organization, or a candidate.
Do not alter the seal. Do not change its colors, stretch it, or combine it with another mark. To request an image file, send a media inquiry and say where you intend to use it.
