Terms of Use
These terms explain how you may use this website, and what you can expect from it.
Effective July 24, 2026
Agreement
This website belongs to the South Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists. When you use this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the website.
These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what the site collects.
This website is not medical advice
The patient pages on this website explain anesthesia care in general terms. They are educational. They are not medical advice, and they are not a diagnosis.
Ask your own physician about your own care. In an emergency, call emergency services. Do not delay care because of something you read here.
Using this website does not create a physician and patient relationship between you and the Society, or between you and any physician listed on it.
The physician directory
The directory lists physician anesthesiologists from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, a public registry published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. That registry is self-reported, and it can lag a recent change.
- A listing is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a referral.
- A listing does not confirm that a license is current.
- Appearing in the directory does not mean a physician is a member of the Society.
- The Society member tag is shown only where a member chose to be listed and we can match them to the registry.
Do not use the directory to build a mailing list, to scrape contact details, or to sell anything to the people in it.
What you send us
You are responsible for what you submit. When you use a form on this website, you agree to the following.
- Give accurate information, and give your own information.
- Do not impersonate another person.
- Do not send clinical details about a patient, and do not send anything you must keep confidential.
- Do not send unlawful, abusive, or threatening content.
- Do not send content you have no right to share.
You keep ownership of what you send. You give the Society permission to read it, to store it, and to use it to answer you and to run the service you asked for.
Thank-you notes to a physician
A thank-you note is read by Society staff before anything happens to it. Staff decide whether to pass a note to the physician it names. Staff can decline a note, and staff do not have to explain why.
Write a note about gratitude. Do not use a note to describe a treatment, to raise a complaint, or to send clinical information.
Job postings
A job posting is reviewed by Society staff before it appears. Staff can decline a posting, edit an obvious error, or remove a posting that is filled, expired, or inaccurate.
The employer is responsible for the accuracy of a posting. The Society does not verify an employer, and a posting is not an endorsement.
Accounts and access
Some parts of this website need an account. Keep your sign-in link and your account private. Tell us at once if you believe somebody else is using your account.
Society staff can hold administrative permission, and an administrator can hold a key that reaches the Society’s tools from another program. Permission is checked on every action. The Society can withdraw permission or a key at any time, and the withdrawal takes effect on the next request.
Do not try to reach a part of this website you are not permitted to use. Do not test our defences without our written permission.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to break, overload, or disrupt this website.
- Do not use an automated tool to copy the site or its data in bulk.
- Do not work around the challenge box or the submission limits on our forms.
- Do not use this website to send unsolicited mail to anybody.
Payments
This website takes no payment. Society dues are billed and collected by the American Society of Anesthesiologists with your national renewal. A contribution to SCSA PAC is taken on a separate hosted payment page, which has its own terms.
Content and trade marks
The text, images, and design of this website belong to the Society or to its licensors, unless the page says otherwise. The Society’s name and seal are ours.
You may quote a short passage and link to the page it came from. Ask us first before you republish a page, or before you use the Society’s name or seal.
Links to other websites
This website links to other organizations, and it aggregates headlines that other organizations publish. Those links are for information. The Society does not control those websites, and a link is not an endorsement of what they say.
Availability
We try to keep this website available and correct. We cannot promise that it is always available, that every page is free of error, or that data drawn from an outside registry is current.
We can change, suspend, or withdraw any part of this website. We can remove content, and we can refuse or withdraw access, if we believe these terms have been broken.
Changes to these terms
We can change these terms. When we do, we change the effective date at the top of this page. Read the page again to see the current version.
